I'm back, but I'm not back....except for a giveaway!

I've got to be honest here. I've enjoyed the break from Jelby's. There. I said it. I think I've been in denial, but it's true. I've been enjoying it so much that I forgot to introduce y'all to the reason I've been on a break....

Meet Max. He was born on April 19 and weighed 8lbs. 12oz. This picture was taken (by the lovely and talented, Melody C. Photography) when he was an itty bitty two weeks old. Sigh.

And, here's Max, just a week ago. He's a bruiser at five months old and 20 pounds! We love his spikey hair, sweet smile, go with the flow personality and serious brows. My girls are IN LOVE with their brother. Not a day goes by without a million kisses given to him, and I know you can see why:

Things have been busy in the Bankhead house! My oldest daughter started kindergarten, we've been sleep training (without much success) Maxers and I've started homeschooling my 3 year old. So, as you can see, there's not much time for Jelby's. But, lucky for you...I can't resist making holiday shirts!

I'll be (sort of) opening shop for my sister's "Holiday Trunk Show" in Keller, November 17th. More details will follow. I am not opening Jelby's for new orders quite yet. My plan is to make shirts for the show and then sell the rest on the blog after. I don't think I should, or will be making any for new orders until after the New Year.

Hopefully, I still have some followers to this little blog. I'd love some input as I start gathering materials and new ideas for the holiday shirts. And, just for fun (and to get some good replies!), let's do a GIVEAWAY!!

Jelby's is officially closed! Baby Max is due in 7 weeks! For those that have placed orders, they will be sent out as scheduled.

I'm not sure when I'll re-open. Please feel free to email me if you'd like to order something. I'll let you know if it's possible...not sure how this three-kid-gig is going to go:) I for sure plan to be back for the holidays! I have loved making unique items for your kiddos! For the super hero in your life!

For my neice's and nephew's birthdays, I couldn't resist making super hero capes. I for sure wanted Johnathan to have one and then thought Julia would love a girly one, too.

I'm positive there will be many days of catching bad guys and "flying" around! They even gave an (almost) two thumbs up:)

These capes are made of satin with an appliqued initial on the back. The neck is loose and closes with velcro (for safety).

Super hero cape (your choice of color and pattern for applique): $20

Libby's dress

I wanted to make sure Libby's mom saw the dress before I ruined the surprise by posting a picture...

Libby loves Elmo, but her mom doesn't love the sometimes cheesy character wear in the stores. We thought this would be a perfect alternative! And we were right, Libby loves it! Her mom is happy because it's sweet and cute. Libby's happy because it has one of her favorite people on it:)

I'm working on lots of cute stuff this weekend! Big sister shirts for my girls, several dresses, burpies and super hero capes! Can't wait to show y'all next week!

Remember, I'm going on "maternity leave" March 4th. Order soon if you'd like something for the spring/summer or that special birthday shirt!

Back from break

I won't say I'm back completely....but I'm back! This pregnancy has zapped my energy! The energy I do have, is used for some much needed nesting and regular day-to-day stuff with my girls. It leaves very little time for sewing. In fact, I'm going to treat myself this time around and have someone ELSE make Max's bedding!! I'll still make some curtains and cover up that huge half circle window in the nursery...but other than that, I'm going to enjoy the fruits of another person's labor:)

All of that to say...Valentine's shirts just aren't on the priority list right now. I'm kind of sad about it. I'll still be available to make your sweetheart's shirt, but I'm just not going to have a "line" out this year.

Next week I'll have my girls' shirts ready to show you, and you can always order one of the designs from last year. And, of course, you can order a custom shirt! All shirts are $15.

Okay, so here is the deal. Click on the "shirts" link. You'll find, under each picture, the sizes I have in stock (some are turtlenecks for girls, read carefully!). If you order a pre-made shirt, I'll take $2 off. That is $13/shirt!

Click on the "dresses" link. I have four winter/holiday pillowcase dresses. These are perfect for Christmas and into Valentine's Day! If you order a pre-made dress, I'll take $3 off. That makes it $22/dress!

...I have a feeling there will be an increase in cute boy items coming soon! We found out today that we're expecting a baby BOY in April! We are so, so excited and so, so shocked with the news (after having two girls you kind of think that's all you can make!)! My husband is elated and the girls are equally excited.

I think it's going to take the next five months for it to sink in for all of us:)

It's been a while!

Wow. It's been a long time since I've updated here! I'd like to say that I do better on my personal blog or FB, but that would be a lie. This summer went by so fast and then we found out some exciting news back in August....

#3 is on his/her way at the end of April! This pregnancy has me so exhausted by the end of the day, all I feel like doing is falling asleep on the couch! When I do get motivated, it's usually been all nighters. Fortunately, that brings out my best work:) And then I wonder why I'm exhausted!

A little of what I've been working on lately:

Reece is going to look adorable for his first birthday monkey party!

My newest (and most popular lately) product...hooded towels! These were for a set of twins. I may have to make a couple for my girls...they match their bathroom perfect!

It's October, so that means the holidays are sneaking up FAST! I'm gearing up for two different holiday shows, local and in Keller (details coming soon). Because of that, I need to "close shop" for a couple of weeks. Starting Friday, October 15th, I will be closed and cannot take any new orders. I will re-open Monday, November 8th. You better believe I'll have CUTE holiday shirts for your viewing (and buying!) pleasure! Be on the look for some holiday dresses as well.

We've got some new "big sis" and grandma shirts!

Those tank dresses that I have been telling you about for a month now:) Pardon the very non-professional picture...our daddy got home from being gone for over a week and I just thought this was the cutest thing ever...and it shows off the dresses in "real" life!

I'm back from "vacation" and have some new changes to Jelby's!

During this little break, my husband and I have been talking about the time commitment with Jelby's. I have LOVED having this outlet for creativity and seeing the smiles on mom's faces when they see my products. It has been a really, really fun year creating for y'all! Because of how much I love this side job and how much I love my family, I have to make some changes to my prices. My time is valuable to me and I know y'all will understand.

Effective June 15th, burpies will be $20/set, all dresses will be $25, kid's shirts will be $15 and adult shirts will be $18. This price increase does not apply to orders that have already been placed.

Coming later this week: tank dresses and appliqued towels!!

Well, the lack of blogging definitley means Jelby's has been busy!!!!

This spring went by so fast. Between March 17th and April 16th, I had 6 friends and my sister have a baby!! I think you can tell that by what I've been sewing lately:

By far, this has been my favorite thing I've made! My sister had her second baby boy. She took monthly pictures of my first nephew, so I made her a year's worth of onesies/shirts for my new nephew! Now she won't have to look at the date of the picture to see how many months old he was! Wouldn't this make an adorable shower gift??

These are for a baby girl coming soon. Didn't want to confuse anyone thinking I might make something in zebra and florals for a boy:)

Until then, has anyone else gone to "Sesame Street Live"? We just went yesterday with a little friend and her momma. My little girl LOVED seeing Elmo and all the other characters. I'm normally not a fan of character wear, but she had to have a shirt to go to this show!

This was such a fun giveaway! I loved hearing all of your Christmas traditions.

My favorite tradition from my childhood was staying up as late as possible on Christmas Eve. I always wanted to wait until the fire went completely out in the fireplace, for Santa's sake:) My sister and I would wake up super early, run in to find our stockings, unpack them and repack them like we hadn't touched them, look at all the gifts (my parents didn't put any presents under the tree until Christmas morning, so it was really exciting!) and then wait (un)patiently for my dad to eat breakfast before we opened gifts. It was sheer torture as a 5 year old to sit in front of the tree for hours and then have gifts handed out one by one. We didn't start opening gifts until 10am sometimes...and didn't end until lunch time! I love it now, but it really was borderline child abuse back then:)

So far, my favorite tradition with my own little family is our Advent Calendar. It has been a great nightly routine of focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. December has already been flying by, so I look forward to this every night as well!!

Okay, moving on to what you all are here to find out! My camera is out of city limits right now, so please trust me that this drawing was fair and square:) I usually have pictures for evidence. There was lots of mixing up of papers (65 papers to be exact!) and careful drawing of just one per little person.
